Doug is a Registered Social Worker, with over 30 years of clinical experience. For the past 25 years he has been in private practice where he has provided assessment and treatment services in the areas of trauma, violence, relationship conflict, and depression and anxiety disorders.
In addition, Doug provides clinical consultation and supervision to individuals and groups. Since 1986 Doug has provided training, treatment, and consultation services to local organizations, communities, and Governments in British Columbia, Alberta, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories.
Doug graduated from Carleton University in 1981 with his Masters of Social Work. After five years in Child Welfare Work with Alberta Family and Social Services he established a private practice initially in Edmonton, Alberta then moved with his family in 1995 to Vernon, British Columbia.
In 1995 Doug joined with Dr. Pat Neilson and Dr. Len Stein to form Vernon Professional Group. The group provided assessment and treatment of sexual offenders and their families through contract with Forensic Psychiatric Services.
Doug’s current work includes providing assessment and treatment services, consultation and training to organizations and Government, and clinical consultation and supervision to individuals and groups. In his clinical work he receives referrals from individuals, lawyers, physicians, ICBC, Criminal Injuries, Aboriginal Communities, and a number of employee assistance programs. /p>
